This policy explains how Sunloop UV uses cookies and similar technology, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for a site to work. Others help the site owner understand how people use it. Similar technology, such as your browser’s local storage, can hold small pieces of information in the same way.
The short version
The site works fully without any cookies. We only set analytics cookies if you choose Accept in the cookie bar. If you choose Reject, or ignore the bar, no analytics cookies are set.
What we use
Your cookie choice. When you choose Accept or Reject, we save that choice in your browser’s local storage so we don’t ask again on every page. It contains only your choice and the date you made it. It’s kept for 12 months, after which we’ll ask again.
Vercel Analytics. We use Vercel Analytics to count page views and measure site performance. It doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify you. It runs for every visitor because it doesn’t store anything on your device.
Ahrefs Web Analytics. We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits and see how people find the site, for example from search engines. Like Vercel Analytics, it doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t identify you and runs for every visitor.
Google Analytics 4 (only if you accept). If you choose Accept, we load Google Analytics 4, which sets these cookies:
- _ga distinguishes one visitor from another. It lasts 2 years.
- ga[ID] keeps track of your current session. It lasts 2 years.
Google Analytics tells us things like which pages people visit, how they arrived and roughly where in the world they are. We’ve set it up not to share data with Google for advertising, and we don’t use it for advertising ourselves. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy.
The widget
The Sunloop UV widget on other websites doesn’t set cookies.
Changing your mind
You can change your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop loading Google Analytics and remove its cookies where your browser allows us to. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will keep working either way.
